Created in 1968, the Bedford-Somerset Mental Health and Mental Retardation program is dedicated to ensuring mental health and mental retardation services are easily accessible and affordable to residents of Bedford and Somerset counties.
The Bedford-Somerset MH/MR Program operates under the direction of the County Commissioners and with the guidance and support of the MH/MR Advisory Board.
MISSION STATEMENT
Bedford-Somerset Mental Health and Mental Retardation (MH/MR) Agency is dedicated to ensuring local access to a comprehensive array of quality mental health and mental retardation services necessary to help individuals and their families lead more fulfilled lives in their communities. As a behavioral health care delivery system, Bedford-Somerset MH/MR Agency will strive to effectively manage and remain responsive to a dynamic and changing health care environment.
The Bedford-Somerset MH/MR office is also guided by the mission of the state offices of mental health, mental retardation, and early intervention.

OFFICE OF CHILD DEVELOPMENT AND EARLY LEARNING (OCDEL)
The Office of Child Development and Early Learning promotes opportunities for all Pennsylvania children and families by building systems and providing supports that help ensure access to high quality child and family services.
